In the early 2010s, when they were on their marks to establish their music careers, Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles became contemporaries. And Sheeran said in a Tuesday (May 16) visit on The Sprout Podcast that it has been amazing to be friends with Harry and be on the road to fame with him as they have both developed so much in the last three years.
“There’s something about going through your formative years, you know like it’s quite weird,” Sheeran claimed at Listen to The Sprout Podcast. He went from being in the biggest boy band in the world to becoming the biggest solo artist in the world, so it’s evident that he’s on top of the world at present.
Ed further explained, “And it’s just it’s an amazing journey to see. I’m, like, really, like super, super proud of him.”
The “Thinking Out Loud” singer used to sleep on a friend’s couch and occasionally woke up to find Styles asleep on a different sofa at the same location. Their friendship dates back to before Sheeran achieved commercial success.
Sheeran later wrote songs for One Direction, such as “Moments,” “Little Things,” “Over Again,” and “18”; the two also have numerous friendship tattoos as signs of their bond.
Sheeran said of their friendship referring to Swift, “It’s the same thing as Taylor, like, there’s rarely people that like totally understand you and I think both of them because they are solo artists and are at this level you kind of talk and there’s an understanding there that you don’t necessarily get from everyone.”
Just a few days back in an interview with Zane Lowe, he shared about Taylor Swift, “I had an hour-20 conversation with her yesterday and we were just — everything that was on our minds we talked about.”
